ACS INSPIRE 6TH FORMER
I’ve been working with some of the 6th Formers at Thomas Becket School in Northampton. I’m helping them to meet experts working in the sector they hope to work or study in. The young people get to talk to people actually doing the job they hope to do...so they can get a sense of whether it’s the right career choice for them. The experience also helps them at their university or job interview when they are asked, ‘How do you know you want to do this work/course’......well they now have an experience they can refer to.
It’s all about getting more information, and being able to make informed decisions about their early career choices. And of course it enables the young people to make contacts 🧒🏼👱🏽♂️👩🏻💼👱🏼♂️👩🏼💼👩🏽💼and we all need them to succeed! Holly hopes to study Interior and Spatial Design at university, so I organised for her to meet the interiors team at ACS in Northampton. Gabi took some time from her day to show Holly the projects she has been working on, and chat through how a project moves from an initial idea right through to fruition. The way we work is changing, becoming more flexible and collaborative, and so Holly was able to see some really innovative projects that ACS has been leading on. I caught up with Holly afterwards and she loved getting an insight into a whole new world. She was really interested in how the software was used to plan, visualise and communicate the ideas for a particular space. Holly was also introduced to the buying and sourcing of furniture 🛋which she found fascinating. A huge thanks to Gabi for introducing Holly to her world at ACS. It really will make a big difference.
