ACS TALK CYBER SECURITY WITH A LEVEL STUDENT

I’ve been working with some of the 6th Formers at Thomas Becket School in Northampton. I’m helping them to meet employers or experts from the sector they hope to work, train or study in.

I’ve been doing this work for over 30 years and it’s so interesting to see the new jobs open to young people that weren’t around 5 years ago, let alone 30 years ago! And Cyber Security 💻 certainly wasn’t an Apprenticeship I was asked for back in 1989!

Thankfully in Northampton we have some real experts helping companies to keep their data safe....and Mark Andrews at ACS Office Solutions is one of the best.

Mark took time out of his day to meet with Aaron, who is hoping to go to university to do a Degree in Cyber Security. Mark told him about the work his team do at ACS and about his own career journey.

Aaron got to hear all of this first hand, and after the visit he was able to reflect on what he needed to do to be successful in this field.

“I learnt that for my course I should be doing things outside it to gain more understanding and practice”.

Great advice ✅ ....whatever the field you want to be successful in!
