Finding My Great First Job would be much easier if every time you really are the best person for the job, you got offered it. But it just doesn't work that way. The person that gets offered the job is normally the person who, in a short slot of time called an interview, most impressed the interviewer. Add into the mix that often, for more junior roles, the person interviewing you has had no training on how to do a great interview...and you have a recipe for interview disaster: Neither the candidate or the interviewer really knows what to do...and so the person he/she "likes" the most (or most like them!) is likely to get this job. I'll make sure that you can overcome this so that even if the interviewer isn't great, that you are! I'll show you how to really prepare for the interview so that you can be confident walking through the door. I'll help you understand what skills you have that match up to the company's requirements...and really importantly, how to make sure you sell these skills to the employer. I'll ensure that you have some great questions to ask, and know when and how to ask them. And I'll make sure you know how to leave a great impression at the end of the interview. Remember - this interview thing works both ways - you are interviewing the company too. So let's make that after the interview it's you who is deciding if this is a great career move...not the interviewer!
