If you'd told us 5 years ago that over 1100 students, parents and educators would be watching one of our evening careers webinars...We'd have laughed 🤣a big, big laugh!

The first time we ran a webinar was during COVID, and 21 people arrived …and we were thrilled 😄. The next one had 7 people - lesson learned: don’t repeat the topic too quickly!

Now we are just super-grateful and reminded how valuable career information is.

The actual number of people who joined us 'live' for "Degree Apprenticeships - What Are They All About" was 1197 + 3 incredible young guests. 🤯

Dale first met Jacob Brand-Rea at an event he ran for East Midlands Education Trust last year. Jacob was a 6th Former at The Joseph Whitaker School. The trust brought together 90 Year 13 students from 6 of their schools for 2 half-day sessions on applying for Degree Apprenticeships. He then helped Jacob prepare for an interview...and he secured a Business Degree Apprenticeship at Rolls Royce. Jacob joined the session to share his experience of applying for Degree Apprenticeships.

Kimberley Ellis was a member of our online Degree Apprenticeship Mentoring Programme just over a year ago, and also attended Kimberley 16-19 STEM College where Dale delivered a bunch of sessions last week.

Kim secured a Project Management Degree Apprenticeship at Amazon and joined us on the webinar, exactly a year to the day after she started, to share her experience of her first year, to shine a light on what her role entails and to talk about how the university/work mix rolls out.

Harley Rigg and Dale met at Corby Technical School where Dale was running a programme funded by Aspire Higher - Project 13 - to help A level students apply for Degree Apprenticeships.

Harley secured an Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at Parker Aerospace and, like Kim, is a year into his programme. Harley gave us all an insight into how he still gets a ‘university experience’ - but in his eyes, it’s even better!

These 3 young people were superstars! 🤩🤩🤩

Articulate, incredibly positive and super-inspiring….it’s no wonder they are being snapped up by major employers!

Massive thanks to Harley, Kim and Jacob for giving up their time after a busy day at work to support the young people following on just behind them.
