Dale meeting with Dr Maréve Biljohn

A South African 🇿🇦 connection of research, community, and coincidence!

Earlier this week, Dale had the pleasure of meeting Dr Maréve Biljohn, who is visiting the University of Northampton for a few weeks as part of her research.

Thanks to Adam Lawton for arranging the meeting, which gave Maréve the chance to explore how social enterprises are impacting the local community.

They also spoke about careers support in South African schools and universities, which sounded remarkably similar to what we see here in the UK.

The conversation also had a personal connection - Maréve studied at Western Cape University near to Cape Town, where Dale's son now lives. By coincidence, his daughter flew out for a first visit the very same day as there meeting!

So, phone out and the 'Find Me' app opened, they were able to talk about the 'Gardens' area where they both were. 😊

A lovely reminder of how small and wonderfully connected the world can be. 🌍
