It’s always a privilege to help young people think about their futures, but today at Queensbury Academy it came with something extra special…

Because Dale met a World Champion! 🥋🌍

Oliwier Mizinski – 2024 ITF Taekwondo World Champion. Incredible!

As students worked on their CVs, Oliwier asked Dale a question:

“Should I even put that on my CV? It’s not really relevant to Cyber Security.”

Dale's response?

Not only should it go on his CV… it’s going right at the top in his Personal Summary.

Because to become a World Champion takes more than talent.

It takes discipline, resilience, tenacity, sacrifice and focus - qualities that employers really value.

Far too often when Dale is in schools, he discovers amazing achievements tucked away at the bottom of a CV in the interests section.....or not included at all.

Students don’t always realise that 'who they are' and 'what they’ve achieved' can be just as important as their grades or technical skills.

Meeting Oliwier was a reminder of something powerful:

👉 The things you think “aren’t relevant” are often the very things that make you stand out.

So to any young person writing their CV......don’t hide your achievements. Celebrate them. They tell your story 📕

And employers? Look out for the hidden World Champions. Sometimes they’re sitting right in front of you!
