Dale found myself presenting at the Sixth Form Leadership Conference run by Net Sixth Form.
⏰ 15 minutes, 150+ leaders, & approximately 0 seconds available for waffle.
His mission?
Convince schools that LinkedIn isn’t just for corporates, recruiters and job seekers.
He outlined three big wins for schools:
🧑🎓 Alumni function....because your former students are out there doing incredible things…and LinkedIn actually remembers who they are. And nothing says 'inspirational' as much as an ex-pupil showing their journey to current students.
🤝 Thanking employers by giving more than the usual ‘Thanks again!’ email. Showcasing the companies who support careers fairs, mock interviews, and talks gives them recognition that actually sticks. That way they'll come back again.
🌟 Student profiles that don’t read like witness statements – helping young people show confidence, potential, AND personality.
The result?
Yes, LinkedIn is genuinely useful for teenagers. Promise.
And a huge thank you to Dale's wifi for not taking more than a couple of seconds to open each LinkedIn profile he shared 😅
Thank you to Michael Senior for making it happen, and to Claire Green for introducing Dale to the group.
