Dale had the pleasure of delivering a LinkedIn workshop to Apprentices from Starting Off – a local apprenticeship training provider that’s very close to my heart.
Why? Because 36 years ago, he founded that very company!
He stepped away 8 years ago, leaving it in the capable hands of some of the incredible people he worked alongside for many years……and today was the first time he’d been back.
The Apprentices in the room were working in marketing roles in local businesses. Many had taken their first steps on LinkedIn, but weren’t sure what to post or how to get started.
We spent time exploring the purpose of LinkedIn for them:
🔗 Connecting with other young professionals
🔝 Developing their own personal brand within their industry
💡 Following and learning from thought leaders
🗣️ Sharing their Apprenticeship journey
It was great to see them recognise LinkedIn as much more than a job-hunting tool - but as a platform for learning, connection, and growth.
📣 The early feedback has been great:
“It was very insightful, and I have come away from the session with a better understanding of how the app works and how I can use it to my benefit, which in turn has given me the confidence to post and share more on my personal profile. It was a brilliant session.” Maddie
“It was great, Dale explained everything thoroughly and he came around the table to help us and support us with our profiles.” Pippa
A huge thank you to Katie Goodall and Helen Deacon for making this happen 🙏 and to Charlotte Berridge and Molly Noble for supporting their apprentices and encouraging them to join the session.
I’ve been running lots of LinkedIn sessions in schools, but this confirmed how much value they can bring to Apprentices too.
