Helping students realise they’re ready for their next step is always rewarding.

Dale spent a morning at Bishop Stopford School doing just that.

Dale worked with around 30 Year 13 students, along with a handful of Year 12s, helping them prepare for apprenticeship and job applications.

Across the morning he ran three sessions:

💪 Personal Branding

👊 How To Smash Your Interview

🔗 LinkedIn For Students

He talked with the students about how to recognise and communicate the skills they’ve ALREADY developed through:

🍔 Part-time jobs

🏭 Work experience

🙏 Volunteering

🏀 Extracurricular activities

Students were on their laptops searching for free courses, organisations they could join, and online work experience opportunities....all ways they could build and strengthen their personal brand.

Students started, developed and optimised their LinkedIn profiles, with some even publishing their first posts!

The feedback was fantastic 🙂

After the event, Kirsty Whitehead, Head of 6th Form, messaged to say:

“Students are still talking about the sessions today, and the feedback on the form I shared with them all is brilliant.”

Some of the student takeaways included:

💬 “The interview session because I really learned about how it should be treated as a two-way street, where we check if the company itself is right for us by asking them important questions.”

💬 “It showed me how to differentiate from applicants, how to stand out and maximise opportunities.”

💬 “LinkedIn because I saw the potential of being intentional with my future.”

And it didn’t stop there.....

On Friday Dale was back at the school delivering a session for Year 12 students on “How To Find Great Work Experience Opportunities.”

He is now really looking forward to hearing about some of the amazing opportunities these students go on to organise for themselves.
