A first visit to Stratford upon Avon School.

🎭 “To business that we love we rise betimes, And go to’t with delight.”
A fitting line from Shakespeare that captures the energy of our first visit to Stratford upon Avon School.
Now we may not be Mark Antony eager to go into battle...and our day had a much more successful ending than his did (he was beaten and fell on his sword)....but we also love our job and "go to't with delight!"
It was an absolute pleasure to deliver a day of sessions to the school's Sixth Form students.
📣 Year 13 assembly on How to Write a Great First CV.
🔗 LinkedIn workshops for Year 13
💻 CV workshops for Year 12.
What made the day especially rewarding was hearing about the immediate impact.
Just a couple of days later, we received this message from Helen Waldram-Tingling, Head of Careers, sharing feedback from a Year 12 student:
👉 “Is there any chance you can pass on a massive thank you to the CV writing people? I updated my CV after the session and immediately got an interview!”
Even more impressive is that the interview was with the 🎭 Royal Shakespeare Company! An incredible achievement for a Year 12 student pursuing a part-time role.
It was great to meet Year 13 student Rory Hunt who had just secured a Degree Apprenticeship, having applied initially using his LinkedIn profile...a real live example in the classroom of the very topic we were covering!
The momentum didn’t stop there. This week, a couple of students have connected with Dale on LinkedIn to ask for further CV advice...and he has been able to leave them a voice note with some feedback.
Huge thanks to Helen Waldram-Tingling for setting up the opportunity to work with her students.
Sound like something that could bring extra value to the 6th Formers in your school? Drop Dale (Dale@mygreatfirstjob.com) a message and we can chat it through.
