No Surprise to Dale!

The student who already had a LinkedIn profile with a banner, profile picture and headline… was also the only student who knew about the work simulation platform Dale shared… and of course that didn't surprise Dale at all.
Dale sees this pattern all the time. The student who is using LinkedIn effectively is often also the student who has secured relevant work experience, completed an extra course, or found another way to explore their career interests.
Dale doesn't think it's a LinkedIn thing. It's about mindset. 🧠
Students who start doing things, rather than waiting to be asked, gradually build a much stronger story about themselves. They connect with other young people, see what they are doing…and want some of that action too.
Dale was at Woodbridge School last Friday, working with their new Year 12 students on Personal Branding. The aim was to start thinking about how you present yourself...whether that's on LinkedIn, on your CV, or on other digital platforms.
After the presentation, he met with some students individually and in small groups to explore ideas that could work for them for the career paths they are considering.
Three lads interested in 🎓 Degree Apprenticeships in Finance were just starting their LinkedIn journeys. Dale suggested they support each other rather than doing it alone. Share ideas, challenge each other and hold each other accountable. Student peer-to-peer support can be really helpful....and it makes it much more fun! 😀
It's early in Year 12, which is exactly why now is the time to start.
A huge thank you to Sharon Stafford, Careers Advisor at Woodbridge School, who is so committed to making sure the students understand the widest possible range of opportunities... and have the tools and knowledge to secure them.
