Being a 17 or 18-year-old applying for Apprenticeships while studying A Levels? It’s busy!!

📔 A Level / BTEC coursework

😬 Mock exams next week

🍔 Part-time job shifts to manage

⚽ Sports and hobbies for a bit of downtime

💻 And trying to apply for a bunch apprenticeships - without a fixed 'covers-all' deadline.

Recently Dale delivered the final session of Project 13 at Mark Rutherford School, working with a small group of young lads navigating all of the above.

Balancing it is no small ask.

Over the sessions we:

✅ Strengthened CVs and personal summaries so they actually spark interest

✅ Looked at simple ways to add value - free short courses, online events, extra work experience

✅ And, introduced LinkedIn as a tool (not just a profile)

One thing really stood out in our latest session:

Apprenticeships don’t have one big deadline unlike university applications.

And whilst the flexibility is great it can make it all feel less urgent.

And without that urgency, applications can easily slip down the priority list.... especially when life is already full.

Applying for Apprenticeships is far from an easy option.
