Dale with Joseph Dixon at The Duston School

Our thanks to Joseph Dixon, The Duston School for this wonderful post on LinkedIn.

Just had a few very informative sessions whilst at The Duston School today. One session in particular stood out to me, was the one run by Dale Willis focusing on developing personal branding.

Sessions like these remind me that not everything that can help you develop further in education are taught to you in a classroom. Rather a lot of success comes down to your individual effort to succeed.

There are a few things I have taken away from Dale's session today;

  • Ensure your social profiles reflect the professional brand that you want people to see.

  • Do not be afraid to take on micro learning opportunities, any courses and components that compliment your studies set you a step above others.

  • Make sure that your brand is unique and that you promote yourself, so you're not another one of the CV's or applications on a stack atop a desk, in a sea of sameness amongst those with identical grades.

If your school would like to explore how My Great First Job and Dale can help support your students with the right information, we would love to have a conversation.
