Dale, still smiling despite travel detours!!
Dale, still smiling despite travel detours!!

There’s nothing like a closed M1 and two Sat Nav detours šŸ—ŗļø to spice up an early-morning trip to Luton 😬 …but it was absolutely worth it!

This was Dale's first visit to Chalk Hills Academy, kicking off some work with their Sixth Form students who are exploring Degree Apprenticeships. šŸŽ“

It began with a presentation for Year 12, followed by a similar session with Year 13.

A particular highlight was having two ā€˜live’ actual Degree Apprenticeship offer-holders in the room!

Huge congratulations to those Chalk Hill students who have already secured places with Forvis Mazars and Grant Thornton šŸ‘šŸ‘

After Dale chatted with them, it was no surprise to learn they’d both completed multiple work experience opportunities - both in-person and online. They had plenty of evidence to demonstrate genuine interest in their chosen fields… exactly what strengthens a successful application. šŸ’Ŗ

Dale took loads of great questions from students afterwards and was able to share resources and signpost them to organisations that can support them further.

It was also brilliant for him to spend time with the Sixth Form leadership team, planning the next steps to support these young people on their journey.

He is now really looking forward to returning in the New Year and continuing to make a difference for these talented students.
