There’s been a significant shift in how independent schools are approaching post-18 pathways.

Conversations around Degree Apprenticeships are no longer on the sidelines.

Schools are actively looking to broaden what “success” looks like beyond the traditional university route…..and this term we’ve had the opportunity to work with students at 7 independent schools, delivering workshops on Degree Apprenticeships and LinkedIn for Students.

In our workshops, we’ve been focusing on:

🎓 Degree Apprenticeships - what they are, how they compare, how to apply

🔗 LinkedIn - developing and showcasing a strong personal brand

🗣️ Interviews - understanding and sharing their stories in degree apprenticeship and internship interviews.

The feedback has been fantastic:

“It was a brilliant evening Dale and the feedback has been hugely positive.”

Hannah Wallis - Rugby School

“We really enjoyed Dale’s interactive session for year 12 on setting up and using LinkedIn……I highly recommend Dale’s workshops to others.”

Jenny Harris - Royal Russell School

"Thank you once again for your time last week, and your fantastic LinkedIn workshop. The Y12s were still buzzing when I took them for Lifeskills yesterday, all very keen to show me their hugely improved profiles!"

Liz Pickford - Royal Masonic School For Girls

If you’re a Head of Sixth Form or Careers Lead thinking about how to better prepare your students for an increasingly competitive and evolving landscape, we’d love to hear from you.

Happy to share more about how these sessions can be tailored to your students. Drop us a message (Dale@mygreatfirstjob.com) and we can chat about how to take it forward.
