Spring Term was busy for Project 13!

Project 13 is an Apprenticeship application support programme run by My Great First Job and funded by Aspire Higher in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire.

The programme supports year 13 students who are looking at apprenticeships as an alternative to the traditional university route.

For most of the schools the workshop sessions now been delivered and the students can access a free 1-2-1 online meeting to help them prepare for an interview.

In fact recently two Project 13 participants have contacted Dale to ask for help with their interview preparation.

It's tricky for these students - they're navigating their way through course work deadlines, mock exams and revision plans.....often whilst also holding down a part-time job to give them a bit of money.

Their university-bound friends got their offers in January and can concentrate on getting their grades....these guys are still applying and interviewing and attending assessment centres.....whilst trying to get great grades too. 😮‍💨

The individual success stories always feel like great wins......but for Dale the biggest win this year has been hearing about the students who secured great Apprenticeships last year, and have then gone back into their school as inspirational role models to showcase an alternative route. Making it seem 'real' to the students following just behind them. 👏👏
